At Mcmichael's we aim to provide our customers best in class customer service even before our customers make a purchase. Our website offers a wide range of product, many of these difficult to compare from a specification sheet. To esnure you get the product that is right for you in terms of Budget, Performance and Reliability we always ask our customers to come instore or at least contact ourselves by email or phone. With over 100 years of trading in the home electronics industry we know what to look for in a product and what makes a product good, bad or indifferent. Our Sales Advisors have day to day experience with products and with that experience they can give expert personal opinions that can help you purchase the correct product.

The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on . Using this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Placing an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and the terms listed are subject to change at any time. Any changes will take effect on the date they are posted onto the site (see date at the foot of the page). Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods using this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.

Please note that any orders placed with are subject to acceptance in accordance with our terms and conditions here with listed. All orders placed on our web site will be acknowledged electronically by e-mail, and all telephone orders will be acknowledged verbally at the time of order. Please note that electronic and verbal acknowledgements do not constitute order confirmation or order acceptance. Your order will be accepted and the contract between you and us will take place upon our despatch of your goods.

Description of Goods and accuracy of information
Product specifications and images and other information published on our web site have either been made accessible by suppliers, manufacturer's, publications, publicists, or been gathered from public-domain sources. make every effort to ensure that the web site and any advertising is as accurate as possible although cannot always guarantee the reliability and accuracy of all information that is published. Full details and specifications are also available from the manufacturer's brochure or web site. Product features and accessories are subject to upgrade or change at the manufacturers' discretion. We will supply you the product as supplied to us by the manufacturer.

Suitability of Goods ordered
It is the responsibility of the individual user to ensure that goods they select and order are suitable for the purpose they intend to use them. We may, at our discretion accept goods returned to us in these circumstances provided that they remain unopened, complete and unused. Goods accepted under these circumstances may be subject to a handling fee of up to 15% at the discretion of . It will be your responsibility to cover all carriage costs involved.

Product Warranty
All goods purchased on our site are covered by the terms and conditions of the manufacturers warranty that unless otherwise stated are 12 months from the date of dispatch to the stated delivery address. The manufacturer warranty specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. In addition routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty audio/video heads etc.), consumables (styli, plug fuses, cables, batteries, etc.), cosmetic damage and tuning of channels are not covered. Where a product is returned for service and an engineer finds no mechanical or electrical fault with your product the service company may charge you. This does not affect your statutory rights

Product Warranty - TFT LCD Monitors and Televisions
TFT displays are made up of thousands of tiny pixels. For example, a 15" flat-screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 has 786423 pixels. Each pixel comprises of three sub-pixels (red, green and blue) making almost 2.4 million dots. Behind each pixel is a transistor. When a transistor fails it manifests itself as a bright, dark or colored dot on the screen that stands out from the rest.

Today's production techniques unfortunately cannot guarantee an absolutely fault-free screen display and buyers should be aware of the possibility of imperfections (in the form of a few isolated constantly lit or unlit pixels) before choosing to purchase a TFT monitor or television. Due to this, there is indeed a commonly accepted 'tolerance level' by which TFTs may display such imperfections (or stuck pixels) without being classified as faulty. As such, we can only take back displays as faulty for refund/repair if the number of stuck pixels exceeds the manufacturer's guidelines. The number required for the monitor or television to be classed as faulty does vary between manufacturers. Please check with the relevant manufacturer as to their 'tolerance level'

Price Errors
Our range is constantly evolving and we endeavor to provide the most up to date information possible. If a product is incorrectly priced we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders, whether or not the order has been confirmed. Where your card has already been debited we will refund or credit your card immediately for the value of the order.

The total price payable will be stipulated at the time when you place your order whether or not your order has been confirmed. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our supplier's prices or any changes to government imposed tax or duties.

All prices quoted on our site are in £ sterling and contain VAT at the current rate. Payment can be made by Credit/Debit card (excluding American Express) or by cheque. Orders can also be placed via our secure server, by phone or by post. You must provide us with your exact name, address and telephone number as it appears on your statement as incorrect information may lead to delays in shipping your goods. Orders placed by cheque will be held until your cheque has cleared, which can take at least 10 days. All transactions are subject to verification and in some instances may require a credit check. We will not be liable for delay and non-delivery on payments where authorisation has been refused.

Payment Methods
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Solo, Electron and Delta as forms of payment. You may also pay by cheque or postal order although we cannot dispatch the goods until payment has been cleared, this clearing is normally within a few hours but can take up to 14 days. Finance terms are also available in store. On the order you must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number, the address and phone number your credit card holder has on file for you. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received

Availability of Goods
All product and services listed are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we are unable to supply the goods within our specified time limit (normally 14 days from placement of order) we will notify you and offer a refund for the full amount. We will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer as a result of the non-delivery of your order.

Stock Accuracy
The stock management system on is not a live system so stock inaccuracies can occur. Many items will show as being available in stock as they are eather available from our own wharehouses or available from the manufacturers warehouses. Where a product cannot be supplied in a reasonable time we will advise you of any delays and give you the opportunity to wait the delay period or cancel your order with a full refund. Under circumstances where a product cannot be supplied as it has become discontinued by the manufacturer we wil either offer you an alternative model, which you may have to pay more or less money for, or we will offer you a full refund.

Price Match
Price match must include a like-for like guarantee offer and must take into account any delivery and collection charges plus any finance deal. Excludes online & mail order only businesses. Service conditions must be comparable. Excludes any ex-display, end of line or clearance stock. Ask for further details

Delivery address
For security reasons we may only be able to deliver your order to the address shown on your credit card statement. We may, at our discretion deliver your order to a verifiable place of work. You will be required to supply evidence to support this.

Transfer of Risk on Delivery
You will be responsible for goods as soon as we have delivered them to your door and have supplied a signature of acceptance to the carriers. We will only deliver goods to the address on the order and request that goods are signed for at time of delivery.  Do not sign for goods until you have examined them as courier responsibility ends with your signature. Any transit damage, product shortages or incorrect goods must be noted on the delivery consignment. If you are unsure of the condition of your consignment do not accept it and contact us immediately. The responsibility of our couriers ends when you sign for your consignment and they will not accept claims for goods damaged in transit thereafter. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk.  There are times where your delivery may arrive at a time when there is no person at your delivery premises, some delivery services offer the service that your product be left in a safe place (such as garage, back door etc) where you request or accept the driver to leave the delivery in a safe place the resposibility is transfered to yourself and we are unable to take responsibility should the parcel go missing or be damgaged from that time on.  Due to the high value nature of our products we recommend that you do not accept or request such service and request that your delivery be re-arranged for another suitable time where someone will be at the premises to sign for your parcel.


Delivery Times
Most stock items are delivered within 3-5 working days from clearance of payment. We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated. On occasion goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outside our control. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. If or our suppliers are temporarily out of stock, we will notify you of this position and you should allow up to 14 days for dispatch of the goods. For delays of more than 14 days, you will have the right to cancel the order and we will refund any money paid by you for the goods

If you have ordered large or heavy goods or live above ground level please ensure that you have someone available to assist our driver with the delivery.

Delivery Charges
All prices quoted on exclude delivery charges. Deliveries to the UK mainland will be with our chosen courier service and will be made under normal conditions between the hours of 8am and 6pm weekdays. Timed, Saturday AM and deliveries to offshore islands are available at an extra cost by phoning our customer service line. The majority of deliveries are made from stock within 2 working days of order placement. Items which are not in stock may take slightly longer but we will contact you with details. Deliveries of large and heavy items will require assistance and it will be your responsibility to provide this at delivery. Please note that we will not be liable for any costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivering goods that is beyond our reasonable control. In the event that your goods appear lost in transit please contact us immediately and we will attempt to rectify the situation.

Returns and Refunds Policy
If you are not satisfied with your purchase you may notify us within 7 working days and return to us within 14 working days of purchase provided that the product has not been opened or used. You will be wholly responsible for the return shipping and insurance of any goods. Refunds under these conditions exclude carriage charges. You must inform us of your intention to return your goods before dispatching any items to us. We will not accept delivery of any goods that have been, or appear to have been opened. Any ‘Free Gifts' supplied with the purchase of the product(s) must also be returned.

Your Right To Cancel
You have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days of receiving your order and return or make available for collection unopened and unused goods for a full refund excluding delivery charges within 30 days. You should notify us of your intention to cancel by Phone, fax or letter - please note that email confirmation is not acceptable. Goods must be returned or collected by us at your expense within 7 days of your notice to cancel. Should you require your goods to be collected we can arrange this and will charge you at our standard collection cost. If you do not return the goods to us unopened and unused within 7 working days of receiving your order your right to cancel will be revoked and we will refuse to accept delivery and the goods will be returned to you. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Time Limit For Notification Of Claims
Damaged Goods: If your goods arrive damaged do not sign for your consignment and contact us immediately. If the damage is not immediately apparent you must inform us within 7 days and keep all packaging to support your claim.

Shortages: It is your responsibility to sign for the correct number of packages as shown on the delivery consignment note. Any shortages must be notified to us within 7 days of delivery.

Incorrect Goods: It is your responsibility to inform us of any incorrect goods supplied within 7 days of delivery.

Faulty Goods
In the event that your purchase develops a fault within 28 days of purchase we will generally exchange or refund the item provided that it is in "as new condition" and returned with all packaging and accessories. We will collect the goods for inspection prior to issuing a replacement or refund. This does not apply to faults caused by accident, misuse or neglect - in these cases no refund or replacement will be issued. This does not affect your statutory rights.

In the event that your purchase develops a fault after 28 days and within its 12 month guarantee you can contact your local service centre for the manufacturer of your product or we can arrange to collect, repair and return it to you for at the charge for collection and delivery of the product. This does not apply to faults caused by accident, misuse or neglect - in these cases no repair will be carried out and the goods will be returned to you. You will be liable for all carriage costs involved in these cases. This does not affect your statutory rights.

McMichael's take customer satiscation very seriously however in the unlikely event that you should feel we have not dealt with an issue in a satisfactory manor the European commission offer an Online Dispute Resolution and Mediation service which can be accessed from the website

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We will collect information about you for 2 reasons: Firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will remove you from our email lists if you request us to do so either by automatic service or by email to our customer service dept. From time to time we may pass your information on to We will not pass your email address to other trusted traders unless you agree.
